- To ensure access for orphans and vulnerable children to essential
services in Siaya, District, Kenya.
Specific Objectives
- To increase school enrollment and attendance among orphans through
support with school fees, food, uniforms and other non material support
- To provide basic health and nutrition services to orphans and vulnerable
children in the community
- To improve access to safe water and sanitation so as to reduce the water
borne diseases
- To provide a home for those children without family care
- Introduce income generating activities to strengthen community response
and sustainability

Progress since inception
- Since inception in early 2007, NCC has
provided for 137 children, and their surviving care-givers, in 47
households:
- Clean drinking water
- Food provisions
- School fees and materials
- Access to medical services
- The administration building has been
completed and is operational.
- School enrolment and retention has been
100%
- Project staff comprising the Center
Manager, an assistant Center manager, two health workers and one social
worker have been recruited
- A Van has been purchased to assist in
transporting children referred to the District Hospital for further medical
care.
- For the first time, the community has clean
drinking water which has reduced water borne diseases and improved hygiene,
not only for the orphans and their households but the entire Nyamila
Community.
- To wean households from handouts and
dependency, NCC has started to produce food through improved and modern
methods of farming that are producing increased yields.
