Willow Run Community Schools, Ypsilanti, Michigan

At the beginning of 2010, Mrs. Njoki Kamuyu and her husband, Dr. Kamuyu Wa-Kangethe mooted the idea of rallying the Willow Run Community Schools and other well wishers to get involved in saving lives of HIV/AIDs orphans in Kenya. Njoki consulted the schools superintendent and made a presentation to the schools board. The result has been an annual Walk-a thon that takes place in April every year.

All the proceeds of the walk-a-thon go to Isaka Memorial Foundation, who uses the money to provide services to the AIDS orphans.

The first annual walkathon was held in April 2010. The well attended event featured members of Bethel A.M.E. Church as well as members of public from Ypsilanti area of Michigan.

During the inaugural event, Njoki's walk committee managed to secure some very enticing prizes form different categories of walkers and donors.
